I'm buying a subwoofer for a medium sized living room to use for both music and movies.

the wharfedale looks good for the £160 price tag but the tannoy also looks amazing on the specifications it says it has a 10" driver and a 10" passive radiator which i heard improves the performance instead of having some port instead.

will either of these sub's shake the walls/floor? my flat is upstairs and below might hear the rumbling if these subs are that powerful, but i would like to invest for my music and dvd entertainment

i also was originally going to buy the bic acoustech pl-200 but it doesn't ship to the UK.. (if somewhere does please tell me who)

oh and i see some sub's are active while some are passive, which type do i need to buy if i will be connecting it to my TV and when listening to music i can connect it to my denon rcd-n8 ceol system as it has a subwoofer input.

the wharfdale will serve you well, and connect to your denon, you should probably check levels with you neighbours because it will [rumble] more than enough to annoy them.

thanks, look's like i'll save myself some money if i go for the subwoofer only route, tempted to go for the 5.1 home cinema instead though
