1st question, when I connect my WD HD to my amp it will not recognise it, could this be because of the WD software loaded on it? 2nd question, if so could I change the software? 3rd question, could I make my WD HD into a NAS? while surfing the web a while ago I thought I seen a product that you plunged the usb from the HD and into, and then a Ethernet into a router thus making it a NAS had anybody got any idea what this was? Your help would be appreciated. Dean

I think its probably formatted in NTFS and the Denon will only read Fat32 (probably)

You would need to reformat the drive

You mean something like this

to format it look for a utility on the web called fatformat32.exe you run it from the command line and it will allow to you format any size partition as fat32.. windows will only let you create up to a 32gb partition as fat32..

In relation to that USB NAS adapter you mention True Blue, could that be used to connect an Iomega media player to my hard drive storage unit while also allowing the HDD to remain connected to the PC ? This would help me out alot as I'm constantly disconnecting/reconnecting the HDD to the player to access my films etc and HDD unit has only one USB port !!

Thanks
