Hi, i have just recently purchased a Panasonic THX-55VT65 based on reviews and history with Panasonic products. I cannot believe the amount of picture setting there are, there are so many seperate adjustments for pretty much everything, please need help! i have used the THX optimizer and being THX certified TV i have it set on THX cinema mode. but the are so much other adjustment such as black expander, gamma, white balance and so much more. just want the TV to be at its best, i love the picture so far but if the potential is there to make it even better then brilliant. blu-ray in low light conditions is what i mainly view, any help/advise would be appreiciated, thankyou Darren.

With so many settings it can be hard to know what to adjust.

I think basic colour, brightness and contrast settings are all that can be adjusted near enough correct without some sort of calibration equiptment.

You can try different colour temps, warm, normal or cool depending on your preferences.

Other than that I would probably not be tempted to adjust anyting else if you love the picture so far.

As per BB's post, you have a great TV there that's capable of an incredible picture, so you should seriously consider having it calibrated.

Put it on pro 1 or pro 2 picture mode

Gamma 2.4

Brightness +8 (you can check this is correct with black clipping test pattern on free dvd such as AVS HD)

Contrast 60

Colour 48

Sharpness 0

Colour temp warm

Everything else off except orbitor keep that on always!!!

Once its 100 hundred hours old get it properly calibrated

I have settled on a 2D calibration thats really insanely good - i know it could be better but not without accessing the service menu. Not trained for thar sadly

People recommend Steve Withers - his posted settings are quite diff to mine.

Personally if it were me I would have me do it or I would have bumptious from AV Forum come and do it. He seems.right on the money with how best to cal these screens. I would love to see him cal mine to do a conparison.

He would be who I approached to do it - you can gethis details from the TPS store aswell I think
