in process of levelling my ipod in terms of volume. been told to use mp3gain, one question once i have done all my files have i then got to put them in my itunes again hopefully with same decibells 89 i think, any help apprceitaed

Hi hufc. I would just use the ipods own volume settings. In Settings you can adjust and lock the maximum volume of the ipod with Volume Limit. Then you can also switch on Sound Check with normalises volumes across all settings.

Even if you do use mp3gain, which appears to do the same as above, you would not need to re-import files as they are just the digital information.
