They wouldn't produce them if they were not playable.....Are Coloured Vinyl any good for playing on the turntable? When buying second-hand vinyl LPs, I found a lot of dust on them. After LP cleaning, it sounds like a new LP.
It can surprise you but even black vinyl is coloured. No influence at all.I've read people saying coloured vinyl records don't sound as good as black but for the couple I have in both, can't really tell the difference.
They all have a colour added to the plastic, as PVC is white, there will also be other additives so, the PVC has the right level of hardness and rigidity/flexibility.No issues at all. Plus they're easier to produce than black vinyl which apparently needs some additive to create the black pigment.
Could be an issue with many linear tracking turntables I guess.Interestingly, enough -though perhaps only to me, I do not know; because, my Technics SL-L3 will not play, work with anything but black. I am curious, but no more, as I only borrow new LPs from the public library and I have simply returned the non-blacks it gets.
It's been many years, so I do not recall if I've ever even listened to non-black LPs at home.
I'm listening to a new black copy of Tapestry this week.
