I have just bought new speakers. Initial thoughts - marvellous sound :) but they are much biogger than I remeber them :O . I think I will have to do some major reorganisation of my living room.

Crossie,

Very impressive. What sort of volume can you achieve with large speakers and plenty of power? Are the Wilmslows elsewhere in the house?

regards.

To answer some questions:

Speakers and stands are 130cm high and weigh 135lb each

Bass seems to be very well controlled considering that they are rear ported and relatively close to a wall although window space behind does help.

Wilmslow speakers are retired to the spare bedroom not sure what to do with them. I imagine it will difficult to sell bespoke speakers.

They will go very loud but thats not what it is about for me. The level of detail is astonishing and the bass is very extended for their size and has a quality of texture that was simply missing in my pevious speakers. They are capable of great contrasts in dynamic level for which they cope with ease.

Yes, I need a bigger house. Listening to Wynton Marsalis at the moment.

These are the best bookshelf speakers in the world. Sonus Faber are close but this is truly reference grade sound.
