V poor sound when connecting my marantz pm6004 to my monitor audio bx2

Hi all,

Just reconnected my amp and speakers after being in storage for 6 months and the sound is very faint. I've tested this with the mac, TV and iphone and it all sounds very faint. I've checked the cables and all the connections and everything seems as solid as a rock. I only brought it all last autumn.

Any ideas?!

That all suggests to me that you use a DAC. (My TV, iPhone and iMac have all been used via one DAC or another for years now.)

If so, does the DAC have a choice of fixed level and variable level outputs? (I'm thinking you might have used the variable outputs and the volume control on the DAC is turned down.)

I had someting similar once and it turned out to be a 'broken' speaker cable even though it looked perfect.
