Apologies if this has been asked before but being a Technical numpty.....Is it possible to incorporate my 20 odd year old Meridian 203 DAC with an IPOD NANO , at the present the NANO is "fed" into the my amps (Meridian 105pre/power monoblocs *4 power amps) via Apples own dock with a QED interconnect and sounds pretty reasonable , could I link the NANO via the dock into the Meridian 203DAC using an interconnect into the digital input of the DAC?? and obtain a better sound than present , I`m just curious.

At the moment the DAC is redundant as I use a NAD bbe545 cd player and sounds better as a stand alone player CD player than using it with the Meridian 203DAC and rather than selling the DAC thought it may be incorporated into the sysem with the NANO..

Any advice would be appreciated

Cheers.... JOTABOY

Hi Jotaboy - no, unfortunately Apple's own dock (and the majority on the market) only have an analogue output. If you bought a new dock which has a digital output (Onkyo does one) then you could connect to your Meridian DAC, and that would undoubtedly give you much better sound quality and would probably rival, if not better, your CD player if you use lossless or uncompressed files on your ipod.
