upscailing sony dvd player?....

I have access to an hdmi upscailing dvd player/hardrive recorder if i want it, but my new tv is only half hd ready, 720 i think.

This sony upscails to 1080, will i get any benefit from this then , over my existing normal sony dvd player, good scart connected?

Hi set the output to 720p on your upscaling dvd player using an hdmi cable,or use the auto feature on your player,its fine your tv is only hd ready,if its only a 32".then your dvds will now fit the panel of your tv screen.
