Hi Guys,

I have just purchased a Pioneer vsx53 reciver to go with my Kef2005.2 speakers, but ive caught the upgrade bug and am thinking of what i could change the speakers for?

1: is there any benifit in going from my current 2005.3 to a 3005se package?

2: i could change the front three speakers to Kef q100s and a Kef q200c center ? dont know if they would merge well with my 2005.2 rears, I could them use the spare speakers to make upto 7.1 or more lol.

Any other advice or opinions welcome.

Hi Tim, do you have large room to house the Q100's? What was your reasoning for buying the 2005.3's in the first place. If you want to stick with the style speaker type then I would definitely consider the B&W MT-25 over the 3005SE.

Regarding your second point, there should be no issues integrating the Q100 and Q200 into your system, you would need to adjust your bass management to allow for the larger front speakers, personally I would prefer similarly matched/size speakers for a more cohesive sound.

This really depends on budget and style preference, if your happy with stand mounts you can't go wrong with the Q300 and Q200c. If you want style speakers, look at the T305, a step up from the 3005SE in my opinion, of course if your budget allows, your AVR could take something better than both.

My mistake on the link. Either the thread has disappeared, or I've got it mixed up with this one: http://www.whathifi.com/forum/home-cinema/yamaha-rxv-1900-and-kef-3000-se-upgrade-advice
