Up to £100 to spend on second hand amp to drive Tannoy F1s. Suggestions please...

JohnDuncan:how about one of these?

John, would that be better than a Rotel RA971 (I know that model is about 1997/98 but it looks fairly modern)? And is it much better than the CA A1?

Kicks the A1's butt, yes. Rotel not so sure, because a) generally I love Rotels but have heard some duff ones and b) there are so many models and mk2s and 3s that it's sometimes difficult to differentiate. Reviews look good and they're generally beautifully made, but not sure I'd pay 100 notes for one.

Denon PMA-250SE

Or

NAD C320BEE. They are 2 'generations' old now (superceded by 325 and 326 models) so should be able to find a good one for close to £100.

If you can find a NAD 320BEE for this price, I would buy it instead of the CA 340. I've owned CA340 SE, CA 540 V2, NAD320BEE, NAD 350, NAD 370, NAD 315BEE, and for me the 320BEE is way better than the CA 340. It's even better in some ways than the NAD 350 and 370 which were more expensive and featured more Watts. I would say the NAD 320BEE can be compared with the CA 540 V2 or even the CA 640 V2.
