Due to an unusually high listening position I need 32" (double standard heigh I believe) speaker stands. What can you recommend? If I have to go down the "custom-made" route what do you suggest? Thank you.
Several companies do tall speaker stands - for example these Atacamas come in both 70cm and 1m versions Or there are companies such as Hi-Fi Racks able to make you custom stands.
OK. Thanks for that. How would the wood construction of the Hi-Fi Rack speaker stands sound as I've seen many a wood speaker stand get a very average verdict in WHF?
Opinions I've read from those who've bought the Hi-Fi Racks stands seem very positive. Most 'wooden' stands are either a combination of wood and metal or another material with a veneer over it - the ones Hi-Fi Racks make are solid wood.
I'd have thought a stand made of a dense, heavy wood should perform very well.
I'll spend up to about 250 pounds (pref. 200) on stands so hopefully they can come within budget. Just quickly, what's your opinion (if any) on the Quadraspire QX-600?
