Hi, any ideas is a there a device out there that can turn you iphone into a remote, many thanks in advance.

I have the full redeye and it is awesome, we can use our iPad and / or mine or my wife's iPhone. No more "pass me the remote"

I believe the new version even has IR extenders. I got mine of Flebay, brand new for a mere £86.

One question I have (still dithering, I'm afraid 😉 ), can you use the RedEye dock to charge an iPad - or is it only compatible with iPods/iPhones?

Sorry only just "scene" your question. The redeye dock looks very similar to a standard dock, the connection is sunk within the body of the receiver, therefore unsuitable for docking of the IPad.

Gratuitous puns excluded 😉 , thanls for the info. The redeye dock is for charging only, isn't it...

Well... Just noticed while trying to answer my own question (above) that on the ThinkFlood website it says about the Redeye and Redeye Pro (not the Mini): Android phones and tablets (coming soon)

It says under FAQ:

"Will there be an Android App or other OS App available?
Yes, we are beginning development for Android early in 2011. We’ll start with integration for the Wi-Fi products, and we hope to move on to integration for the mini later in the year. After we tackle Android we will consider moving to other operating systems, as well."

Very interesting, shows the way the winds of change are blowing...

(Apologies if this has already been posted...)

Sorry could not resist, yes it only charges the iphone etc, and offers no outlet connections, but I find it very useful.

The iPad works really well and in particular I like the TV guide option, 1/3 of the screen is your buttons and the rest Is your channel guide. You can set it up for Sky, Virgin or Freeview and it has a screen of the next couple of hours. You can flick up and down to see other channels and go across to see later in the day, the info acts as a button to select the channel. It also has an info button with programme synopsis. It also allows you to set up a favourites list so you don't have to trawl through channels you never watch, and all the channel logos are there too.
