Does such a beast exist? Blue-ray / DVD / CD player with the ability to rip CD's??
Any thoughts appreciated as always...

Otherwise no.

There are universal players of course but I don't recall seeing anything that can rip to an internal drive as well.

Interesting,wonder if you can still find one. It certainly slipped under my radar but maybe I wasn't interested in such things back then.

Not a stand alone player and only for CD's, but the Bluesound Vault does have a CD drive that rips to internal HD and acts as streamer for Spotify etc and internet radio.
