Hi all!

My hi-fi consists of a pair of Triangle Celius 202, a primare cd21 & an integrated amplifier primare a30.1. I would like to be able to stream music from a NAS in the same quality in terms of sound or slightly better than i do now in my current system. Given the fact that in 5 years time my amp will be 15 years old, is the purchase of Naim's Uniti Lite the best low budget solution for my hi-fi system now?

Thank you in advance,

Harry

The Uniti Lite is an all-in-one so if you are looking at ultimately retiring your current CDP and Amp to reduce box count then yes, it's a solution.

If you're looking to keep your current CDP and maybe upgrade your Amp then something like the CA Stream Magic 6 or Naim ND5 XS may be more appropriate

Scissor_digits thanks for your answer!

but can i ask you about a highly subjective matter?

i hear also music (from time to time) from my pc to amp(without external dac)

If perfect sound is 100 let's say points and my current system (cd21 & primare a30.1) for convenience purposes is 50...what would you mark the sound

1. From pc to my amp (without dac) &

2. From Uniti Lite to my amp

Thanks again,

Harry

Chebby you will have to excuse me...i'm new at this stuff! 🙂
Ok, sorry Harry. (I guess I was a bit harsh.)

We've had some people post up to 4 or 5 duplicates at one time.

I used to think it was just attention grabbing. Maybe there is some site software glitch that only affects new posters.

I think it's just people expecting their post to appear as soon as the page reloads (which isn't unreasonable) but it actually takes a couple of minutes, so they repost it, then that doesn't appear immediately, so they do it again, and again.

But in this case if the OP replied to his own original thread before starting this one (I don't know if he did), well then...

I think there's 5 of these threads on the go at the moment. Not harsh at all Chebby and not a glitch either Lhc.

If you were thinking of retiring your amp and going down the Naim route, while keeping your existing CD player, then I'd suggest either the SuperUniti or the Award-winning NAC-N 172 XS 'streaming preamp', used with the NAP-155 XS power amplifier, but we're now way beyond your 'low budget solution'.

FWIW, if it were me, I'd go for the SuperUniti in such circumstances.

Andrew, maybe you're right...but i think i'm not ready for this solution not only because of the budget but also for my limited experience in terms of sound quality. I bought my current system 1 year ago from a very close friend of mine. So, given the fact that (at least at that stage of my life) i put first convenience and second sound quality maybe the best think to do is to buy the Uniti Lite (despite all of its disadvantages towards other solutions ND5 XS, Super Uniti, etc etc) Wouldn't i be at least the same with Uniti Lite in relation to my current hi-fi system? You see now why i am so sceptical! 🙂 But thanks anyway...i appreciate all the help you've provided!

Regards,

Harry
