Weird that this is from Sevenoaks too, yet on their own website it’s £699. And they pay Amazon to advertise there.

Like Matthew I've never heard a bad tonal Marantz nor have I ever experienced a cloying Wharfedale. And I've owned a few over the decades, and heard many others from the Diamond range.

Yes, great price! However still £100 more than the CD6007 and if as you say you prefer the sound of the CD60 using Optical Out and the PM7000n DAC then all I'm buying is a more expensive transport mechanism.

By the way - choosing Marantz CD players was in my dreams last night! I was in Richer Sounds umm-ing and aah-ing over the CD60 vs the CD6007 and then discovered that they both had rather rudimentary rotating wooden paddles under the chassis to aid cooling

I think you would find the 6007 ample and in your position I would save the £100. It's also a better visual match if that matters to you.
