You would need to have a tv that is capable of 1:1 pixel mapping so it can output the best picture quality and act as a monitor. There is a master list on the internet so do a google search for it
Connect it through HDMI and you are ready to, or VGA. It depends how complex your setup is. If you have an AV that can handle TrueHD and MA HD then you will need a graphics card capable of sending a bitstream to the AV for picture and Sound.
I have my PC connected to my TV and its great, it takes care of so many problems and eliminates the needs to buy additional equipment to achieve the same result.
