What is the best TV i can get to go on the wall in my kitchen? I am thinking about a 40 inch set. Do i go for plasma, LCD or LED? Must have good picture and good sound as there will be nothing else connected to it, and up to a thousand to spend on it. Please help.

Surely it must matter what specification TV i buy. It will be professionally installed but i don't want to buy one then find i could have got better picture or sound for my money.

I didn't say it didn't matter what specification it was, or indeed how well it performed: I was just saying that it doesn't matter whether it's a plasma, conventional LCD or LED-lit LCD for such an application.

Our reviews section will fill in all the rest...

I think you have asked the wrong question.
Which TV goes best on a wall?....Ans:all of them
Which TV should I buy?....Ans:well what are your specifications, HD v SD Blu Ray etc...
but your post says TV on the Wall so perhaps you could try and be more specific about its usage, viewing distance etc for us to help

There are some very nice 40-42 inch TVs for your budget:

1) Sony KDL40HX703

2) Samsung UE40C6510UK

3) Panasonic TX-P42G20B

4) Panasonic TX-P42V20B

The first one is an LCD, the second an edge LED lit LCD & the last two are plasma TVs. Take your pick. I personally prefer plasmas & would go the the Panasonic V20 (although it's a little over your budget). It should also have a better sound. Samsung TVs usually don't have a decent sound quality.
