Hi,

A relative has a Panasonic TX-L37U10b TV. He is deaf, and wants to buy some wireless headphones for the TV, so that he can hear the TV better, without the TV speakers being on max volume.

My question is: when the headphones are plugged into the TV, can we have the TV speakers working too (so that everyone else in the room can hear the TV at an acceptable volume)?

Any help on this will be very welcome.

Not sure. Have you got any headphones lying around or you can borrow? Stick them in the minjack out on the TV and find out. Once you have headphones plugged in check through the menu and settings in case you get the option for TV speakers on/off when headphones are plugged in.

I can't particulary recommend any wireless headphone. But since you say others will be in the same room, you want closed back headphones to stop noise leaking from them that others in the room will hear.

Thanks very much for your help, especially about getting closed back headphones.

Our problem is that the deaf relly is a couple of hundred miles away, currently doesn't have any headphones, and checking the TV settings is a bit beyond him, so testing with other headphones isn't possible.
