hi

i wonder if anyone's got any advice.

i'm thinking of changing my tv which is currently a sony vega kde p42 which works fine but now resembles something from the industrial revolution in terms of bulk and lack of hdmi. i've got an excellent sound system with a meridian 800v4 and meridian 568.2 processor which i can route the dvd and tv sound through so i was wondering if there's a tv out there with a brilliant picture/poor sound trade off that offers value. the sony kdl503 seems like a good bet but any other ideas appreciated.

also in terms of hdmi cable between dvd and tv what should i be looking at.

Hi Mk,

Really depends on your budget, on reading some of the reviews on here Samsungs have good displays and less so in audio, but if your a Sony fan then there is a plethora to choose from check out the reviews on here they're an excellent guide you can't go wrong.

In terms of an Hdmi cable again cost, if you've got the cash then you could be talking funny money, ie:- Wireworld can be very costly depending on the quality and how the cable has been manufactured etc. Personally i use Chord Active which is great with motion and digs deep for all aspects of audio.

In summary mk what's your budget check out reviews expert and user, arrive at a decision from there mate.

Good Luck

The KDLEX403 is also very good.

As per discussion on another thread digital either works ot it doesnt so there in no advantage in spending a fortune on a HDMI cable, buy a £15 cable from a reputable brand (so you know that it is well constructed) and spend the extra on the TV.
