Any tips for a suitable TV for an 84 year old ?

40-46", easy to use, freeview built in, sharp picture & sound.

It does not need to be 3D, or internet or network enabled.

Budget £500.

Had a similar issue with my 86-year old father. Ended up giving him our older generation "simpler" sony, and bought a new one for ourselves.

The simpler the better, and if you already know how it works, then the phone calls for technical support (how do I turn it on etc) :) are much easier to handle.

Unfortunately the family all have fairly new TVs, but thanks for the tip on the calls for help.

I've had lots of calls that start with "this stupid thing..........." relating to a mobile phones etc.

It may be an ageing population, but the consumer industry hasn't caught on. I guess what we're looking is the quality of new technology with point and click functionality.
