Turntable upgrade Project to Rega...

Hi guys,

looking to upgrade my turntable in the near future along with adding a few bits to my current set up.

Have a Project Essential at the moment, and have been looking at Rega's turntables, I don't know how much my budget will be, hopefully i can stretch for the RP3 or the new RP6...

but if i was to choose the RP1 would this be a worthwhile upgrade from the project essential?

As good as an RP1 is, I don't think it's going to be cost effective to change to. An RP3 is going to be a fair step up for you though. I think an RP6 would be overkill, but I suppose it depends how you view things - you might be seeing this as your last turntable, if so, go the whole hog and all you'll need to worry about will be a cartridge every now and again.
