Hi everyone I hope someone can help. During a recent house move one of the springs for the suspension on my Systemdek iv snapped and is now in need of repair, does anyone know of a place in the Manchester / Stockport ares I can get it repaired? It's like I haven't moved in properly yet as I haven't had chance to kick back and listen to some vinyl.

Pete.

Hey mutation23

I suspect that your hunt for a genuine spring might be quite difficult. Personally, I'd be looking for somebody who can make a copy of one of the other springs (or a set of three to the same spec). A quick google for "spring manufacturers" came up with these people, for example.

And I can also recommend this company - http://www.leespring.co.uk/pages/home.html having dealt with them for a number of years. I can't give any specific help with the spring you need, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't a 'standard' from a manufacturer's range. Give them a call - you'll need to know the spring diameter, the wire diameter, the number of coils, the length and the (most difficult of all) 'spring rate'; that is the force you need to apply to compress the spring by 1mm. Good luck.

Audionote now make the current version of the Systemdek and may be able to help you...

Also there are the people who originally made the Systemdek who also may be able to help...

http://www.loudspeaker-art.com/contact.html (The guys who run this company use to manufacture the Systemdek)

Inspire Hifi make their own turntables and service/rebuild and sell many others - including Systemdeks - on their ebay site. They may know how to source spares for you....

I did think of that chebs, but was a bit worried that the 2x2 (which was what I guessed the OP might have) might be totally different from the IIx suspension wise?

Thaks for all the suggestions everyone, I had been thinking replacing all three was the way to go and will be exploring all the links posted today. Will let you know how it goes.
