Welcome to the forum

You might have realised this website has problems at the moment and it is not possible to reply directly to new posts.

To answer your question you cannot connect directly as the Denon has no inbuild phono preamplifier. The Denon is designed more for the 'digital' age and, as such, you will need to buy a a seperate phono preamplifier and connect turntable to this first.

These can be had for around £50.

You'll need to add a phono stage to this to increase the signal (and affect RIAA equalisation). Your dealer can recommend and supply one to suit the deck.

Thanks for the advice chaps. Am I right in thinking that a Flexson Vinylplay will solve the problem of needing a pre amp?

On the face of it the Flexson will get around the preamp requirement, but personally I would go the Rega RP1 / Project Debut Carbon route with additional preamp myself. Your money, your decision.

Cool. Could you recommend a reasonably priced pre amp please? It'll also need to be black gloss to match the TT and system. Cheers.
