Turntable Speed control

Hi,

Well I have my turntable - Pro-ject Xpression III (thanks for all who helped me out) I'm absolutely blown away by what it can do when compared to my roksan caspian CD. Now I have read a few bits on the net say that the speedbox improves things considerably. What's everyone elses opionions? Is it worth the £100?

yes...well worth it. improves soundstage, better bass....

but, full price is pushing it....

no more removing platter to change belt for 12" 45 rpm,s.

+ i paid £40 for mine ex dem from the importers, give henley a ring and see if they have an ex dem knocking about, or keep checking fleabay.

they do come up now and again.

I never thought of contacting Henley. Will give them a call tomorrow. Have been watching fleabay, but nothing yet!

Do you have the original speedbox, or the new mk II? Found a reasonable price on the original and, although my main reason for buying one will be the convenience factor, wondered if it also improves performance like you have mentioned.

mine is the mk2, if you can get a mk1 at a good price go for it.

you will not regret it, apart from swapping for the acrylic platter probably the best upgrade you can get for the expression...
