True HD with BDP-S350 with STR-DG820 Receiver

When playing blue ray discs I assumed I would get Dolby true HD audio, but the receiver is converting too linear PCM. Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong.

Ensure your player is set to bitstream. You are hearing the HD audio stream, it is simply being decoded by the player rather than the amp, hence the LPCM on the display.

In the audio preferences, set to 'Direct'. ÿThat's the usual problem.
