Hi All,

I would appreciate any help I can get.

I've bought the Toy Story 3 Blu Ray, but when I play it (selecting the DTS 7.1 HD audio) I only get 5.1 (Amp says DTS 3/2.1)

I've checked the speaker set up through GUI mode on the amp, and it says 3/4.1

Blu Ray player audio out is through optical and is set to DTS 2 and Dolby 2

Any ideas please????

I think you have to set your player to decode the DTS HD sound track to LCPM and out put it down the HDMI, the optical output can't carry the bandwidth of lossless audio, you will then have to programme the amp to use the HDMI audio not the optical.

At the moment it be be subtracting the DTS core which is probably only in 5.1

I'm not 100% on the settings on your amp / blu ray player as I have never owned either, I will look into it, but it sounds like a setting in the 320, is dowmixing from the HD audio stream.

It looks like i've lead you down the wrong path, your 2400 does accept HD audio via HDMI, (I was thinking of the 1200) however I was right that lossless audio can not go down the optical connection.

So it's an easy fix, page 45 and 38 of your manual states that if you set it to "auto" and send it down your HDMI and you set the input on the 2400 to accept audio from the HDMI this should now work.

Thanks, but I'm having no luck. I've disconnected the optical to take that out of the equation.

I've set hdmi audio out to auto on the 320.

I have 3 choices on the amp: auto, analogue or optical. I've set this to auto too.

Should DTS/Dolby still be set to convert to LPCM?

I've got it, had to change decode priority on the amp to PCM from auto.

Thanks for your help

Excellent, I was just looking through the manual again for the 320, let us know how it sounds, my boys getting that one from Santa.

Sounds great, especially Buzz in Spanish. Funniest part of the film.

Thanks again for your help
