Toshiba XDe 600 DVD player

Has anyone seen, or used or read a review of this new Toshiba XDE 600 DVD player?

What's the difference between the XDE 600 and the XDE 500. The XDE 600 seems to be cheaper according to the Toshiba website!!

Will the XDE 600 remember what point on the DVD it got to, unlike the XDE 500?

The XDE-600 is a replacement for the older XDE-500. Sometimes, it does happen that older models are slightly more expensive than the newer ones, because the newer ones are launched at a lower price point. Check Amazon for PS3. The newer PS3 slim is cheaper than the old 80GB PS3. Likewise, the 8th generation Pioneer Kuro was more expensive than the 9th generation 5090.

The main difference is that the newer XDE-600 has a USB port, while the old XDE-500 doesn't.

I've had the XDE500 for a year now. It broke down 2 weeks ago and I just got it replace by the newer XDE600. I'll come back to let you know of any differences other than look or usb.

I found the XDE500 to have very good Picture Quality. Mine is hooked up to a Panasonic Plasma (1080i) 52 inches. I have just purchased a PS3, so i will be able to compare the two (blu ray vs upscaling dvd). I have only watch one Blu ray disc. I know my tv doesn't handle 1080p, but I must say that sitting at about 10 feet, I couldn't really say that Blu Ray was that much better looking.

I will rent a blu ray of a movie that I own on DVD and compare.
