Been looking at 'Hughes Tv ' a local dealer and they are doing this dvd player with upscaling for 45 pounds, I was just wondering what you guys thought to it or if anyone has one and if so would they recommend it.

That's a great DVD player for the money - we gave it four stars in November at the full retail price of £60. But before you pay up for it, it might be worth checking out the Samsung DVD-HD870, which has just a bit more detail and insight, and a more punchy colour palette. If you can, give it a demo or just check the prices before taking the plunge.

They have that one for 58 so may well go for that, i'm in the market for a new tv so was thinking of adding new dvd player at the same time but don't want to go hd or blu ray untill it's clear which is going to be the leading format so an up scaling dvd player for my exsisting collection is ideal, also i might get a better deal if i buy a tv and dvd togeather - can you also comment on panasonic up scaling dvd players, how do they compare to the samsung?
