Even though blu-ray has won 'The Format War' ,as well as using my ps 3 for blu-rays i have decided to purchase some hd dvds as they are now really cheap,so i will be rigging up my hd-e1 player to my sony 820 amp [when it arrives!] Just wanted to know if Dolby Tru hd sound can pass through the hdmi port on the back of the player,as the only other connections are optical [which is only for standard dts and dolby digital,yes?],and component video[green,blue,red] and audio out[l/r] Also are there many of you home cinema enthusiasts out there that still own the same player,and if so are you still using it/using it more, now that nearly all hd dvds are really cheap? Im very interested in all peoples views/feedback,thanx!

i got myself an ep30 after the 'war' was lost got it for 50 notes with 2 HDDVDs, have got myself 3 more HDDVDs since and still use it for these and std DVD duties...

the EX1 does not decode the HD audio put it does send it by the HDMI and then the AMP will need to decode the audio.
