maybe its an IE explorer 9 problem! Anyone know?

Click on Compatibility Mode if using IE9 (the blue icon just after the text in the address bar) cures many of the text entry problems.

Clicking refresh (the button to the right of the one mentioned above) cures the apparent missing post & page number issues for me, at least. Doing so also updates the posting lists.

Dire Straits - Money for Nothing
That doesn't count, it's a best-of album :)

Interesting recommendations, from all of you. Makes me realize there's too much music out there that I don't know (yet).

Yes, that seems to help with posts, but the update is really slow.

Agree the old system was so much simpler and immediate.

Couldn't agree more! I have contacted WHF a while ago, but nothings changed. I have found by disabling rich text has cut out a lot of the probs I was having.

Also, if you are using internet explorer for your browser, turn on compatability mode. This will help considerably.

Assuming no compilations, live, soundtracks, classical, etc., etc.

Bill Bruford: Feels Good to Me (a surprise inclusion, but it just keeps getting played)

Dixie Chicks: Taking the Long Way (less two fingers than two barrels...)

Bob Dylan: Blood on The Tracks (best divorce album)

Genesis: Wind and Wuthering (best album)

Mike Oldfield: Ommadawn (best instrumental)

karnataka: delicate flame of desire (hey, hey, my, my, prog will never die)

Rush: Moving Pictures (30th Anniversary BD remaster)

Jennifer Warnes: Famous Blue Raincoat (Jenny sings Lenny; The Man approves)

Wishbone Ash: Argus (high tide for the twin lead guitar)

Yes: Going for the One ('Even Closer to the Edge' in places)

FWIW, none of my top ten songs are/were on any of these albums. Less difficult than 10 top songs, but still no CCR, no Floyd, no Neil Young...

Is that a deliberate policy or just coincidence? If it's the former I find that a remarkably puzzling attitude. I don't listen to a great deal of "the classics" but I wouldn't deliberately discount something simply because it's older than date X. I mean is your limit Jan 1 1995 or would something from December 1994 be ok?

Off topic a touch, i realise, but this brings to mind a friend of mine from university who simply wouldn't watch black and white movies.

Nothing I could say would persuade her that she was missing out: "I just don't like them..."

There's not a whole lot of arguing with that.

If anyone could be bothered, at some time in the future it could be totted up as to which albums or bands featured the most so we ended up with a winner of "What Hi-Fi enthusiasts' favourite album or band of all time of those who expressed a preference" award. C'mon the Tull.

D'oh!

Then swap it for... mmm...

Are OSTs allowed?

I'd go for Disney's Fantasia.

A colleague's wife is even worse, 26 and refuses to watch any film older than she is. Just pathetic...

Sorry, just can't restrict it to 10;
Dragonfly summer, Michael Franks
Bish, Stephen Bishop
Cara Dillon, self titled
Famous Blue Raincoat, Jennifer Warnes
Warm Strangers, Vienna Teng
American Pie, Don Mclean
The Crossing, Meg Hutchinson
The Stranger, Billy Joel
Near Demise of the high wire dancer, Antje Duvekot
Rumours, Fleetwood Mac
Think it's a close run thing between Tull, Floyd and Genesis which is the most popular band so far.

10 is difficult, if I chose again tomorrow they would probably change but 10 that stick in my mind;

Metallica black album

Guns and Roses appetite for destruction

Van Halen Van Halen

Killers Hot Fuss

Nirvana Nevermind

Pearl Jam Ten

Biffy Clyro Revolutions

Muse Black holes and revelations

Foo Fighters Wasted Light

Stereophonics Performance and cocktails

I can already think of some I missed!

Quite upsetting actually to leave so many of my favourite artists out. In the end, however, there can be only ten...

`Bat Out Of Hell` - Meat Loaf

`Bad For Good` - Jim Steinman

`A Night At The Opera` - Queen

`A Trick Of The Tail` - Genesis

`And Then There Were Three` - Genesis

`In The Court Of The Crimson King` - King Crimson

`Hotel California` - The Eagles

`Darkness On The Edge Of Town` - Bruce Springsteen

`Highway To Hell` - AC/DC

`Eldorado` - Electric Light Orchestra

A quick message to Neil Young, Heart, Journey, Rush, Abba, Survivor, Mostly Autumn, Sarah Brightman and Fairport Convention...`Please forgive me`.
