Well after a 10 days or so John Lewis have finally confirmed my philips 42pfl6907 is not repairable. They are currently considering what to offer me as a like for like replacement but have advised i can opt to upgrade for an additional cost if i wish.
So after checking the measurements of our corner unit it looks like we can go from a 42" to 49".
John Lewis have a few 49" options ranging from samsung, sony to LG. Even though my options are slightly restricted i'm still finding it a bit bewildering on what to go for.
Can anyone offer advice on a good 49" model ?My price range will be around the 1k mark, maybe a touch more if its for a highly recommended model.
PS I cant get ambilight as thats a philips only and it seems just about everyone has dropped 3D so a qaulity image and decent sound is my priority
