. . . but I'm still 'rolling' along . . . :bounce: yep, a couple of new valves arrived this morning 'Electronic Harmonix 6SN7 Gold Pins'. Initial reaction, they sound like they are going to be a bargin at £38 for the matched pair . . . see how they fair after a days burning in? More changes already than I would expect from fancy cable swapping.

A couple of great albums listened to on Spotify this morning, 'Alison Krauss + Union Station Live', worth a listen if you are into blue grass country, but the revelation of the morning . . . Larry Holloway and Chris Woitach, Bass & Guitar, some superb finger plucked double bass with excellent guitar from Christopher Woitach, pure unadulterated music from just the two instruments.

Yes the ALison Krauss is a really good recording. I will check out the Larry Holloway.

Just playing Calexico Carried to Dust which you may want to try, sound quality is excellent. Also try some Ray Montford.

Keep on rolling, look forward to the updates.

Had some great listening over the past few days, all this valve rolling had produced a sound that is so good IMHO of course. A little up and down as one moved through the three destinct valves types, but one stuck to the task, someone has to do it;) Finaly a fourth change to just the driver valves that has brought it all together.

I'm now listening to music (not hifi), music that has dynamics, detail, is smooth and sweet in all areas. Of particular note is the togetherness and yet individuality presented, a realy strong captur of subtle inner detail and the retention of dynamics at low volume levels. Sound stage is opening as the 'play time hours' pile up, now 25 hours for the Electonic Harmonix 6SN7 gold pin drivers, the others have had many more than this, all to their advantage.

Smooth, sweet, extended, detail, laid back, dynamic and sublty are all there in their right amount, place and time . . . perfection? . . . probably not, but certainly very more'ish to listen to. What I am finding is that the presentation so suits the Spotify medium, I'm getting on with the days chores and pleasures with Spotify in the background . . . never wanted to do this before . . . ;)

Begs the question in my mind . . . 'are you missing out, not trying valves'?

CJSF:wave: thats it, no more . . .
