Thorens - genius of rim drive !

Listening to my Thorens TD124 Mk II last night i was reminded of just how good rim drive turntables can sound. Amazing torque from the motor, up with any direct drive unit and no vibration after beefing up the suspension !

Anyone else a fan of these under-rated turntables ?

Sadly I still cannot find a Rim-Drive turntable which does not have more rumble than I am willing to tolerate. However, I consider the Thorens better sounding than the Garrard things...

I have never seen the TD-124 described as "under-rated" before.

'Legendary' is the usual prefix.
