Having built and used a HTPC for a few months now, based around a 780g mobo... which works well enough... however i'm thinking of going for a simpler solution for all my media files.
Apple TV + NAS + DAC + Active speakers (stereo only) and then possibly get a notebook for backing up.
As I understand it the ATV now supports 1080p and I do like the GUI, VMC also has a nice GUI and although with a few tinkering sessions have managed to get my dvd's to display in the library and play flac files, I'm lured by the small footprint and supposed performance of the ATV for little cost.
Anyone have any comments/advise when considering a system such as this?, ultimately I just want (within reason) an out of the box plug and play solution for music and other media as I am now bored with fiddling with windows.
