Isn't it a cracker? It was my favourite film and favourite blu-ray of last year, and it came first in The Leisure Lab's Top 5 Blu-rays of 2008:

Said it before and I'll say it again - definitely in my top 10 films of all time. Astoundingly good film and one of the finest performances I've ever seen by good old Daniel - certainly no controversy with those Oscars!

Not trying to creat a riot here but I think it started off ok and nearer to the end just got plain weird. Brilliant acting but it is not near my top 10.

Watched that one just recently (thank you Lovefilm!) and thought it was pretty good. Definitely award winning material. And, in my view, much better than Blood Diamond for instance (

). I'd put it in my personal Top 50 for sure.

It is marginally less rubbish than No Country For Old Men.

Or more rubbish.

Depends on the prevailing wind.

Interesting thread this one. I personally thought it was a brilliant film, and liked (although to a lesser extent) No Country For Old Men too. What kind of thing are you in to al7478?

Before i say what im going to im just gunna put my armour on & prepare for battle as i have to disagree with all of you as i found it totally boring !! I didnt even get to the end of the film.

I to do like DDL (i think his best role to date is in "in the name of the father?" Also the PQ of this bluray is fantastic but im afraid i found the film very slow & boring & easily forgotten.

I now prepare for my fate ha

I also happened to like "no country for old men" at least it got gripping in places, but i still wouldnt say it was brilliant.
