No there's not, I'm going for animated films as we haven't done one yet for film club. I think it's pretty unlikely many will have seen my three so I was thinking maybe I could just put those forward and there's a fourth one I could add if one gets removed.

I think an animation theme is a good idea. What are the films, Toy Story 1,2, & 3?*biggrin*

I guess it doesn't have to be 4, 3 is fine. Maybe we should keep it at 3, but a 4th can be added if it's a film that you've previously nominated?

I think BBB nominated (or was that recommended?) the animation Princess Mononoke, but it did not get selected. I bought it, but have not watched it yet, and some of my friends recommend other animations by the same production company.

Hi Mike

I think I, well my wife, recommended Princess Mononoke.

I've picked my films for next month, could you have a look and vote?

I've watched a couple of Studio Ghibli films recently. Not entirely my thing. What I'm going to propose is not Studio Ghibli nor similar to it.

Haha, I actually could very easily at the moment propose children's animated films (although none of the Toy Storys would make the list). However, what I have in mind are all 'adult' animations (but not in that way).

probably quite predictable, but my favourite Ghibli is still Sprited Away, but I really like Howls Moving Castle & Kikis Delivery Service.

I did try posting my vote a few days ago, but the site was playing silly buggers.

I'm going to give The Chaser the full 4 points. I have seen it once before quite a while ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it, and I've been meaning to revisit it again. Saying that, I might[/i] be getting it mixed up with another film... :)

I have no idea about the other films, so...

Black Cat White Cat - 3 points

My Life As A Dog - 2 points

Spring, Summer etc - 1 point

So that's 9 points for both Dog and Chaser, 7 points for spring and 5 points for Cat. Casting vote to Mike!

Bonsoir Michael. May we have the points of the French jury please?

He was on a few days ago (I think), and I tried to catch him before he disappeared, but he'd already gone.

So that's My Life as a Dog as the winner? Slightly confused because of what seems to be an ascending order of your votes!

Me too.

Is that points or position Mike?

Thanks Mike.

So the film to watch in October is MY LIFE AS A DOG. The version I have on DVD (Cat# FCD236 / Barcode: 5027035003948) has pretty awful PQ, so if you are buying it, see if you can get a different version. It may well be that all versions have the same PQ, but I'd hope it could be bettered.

And just to remind you all to watch REQUIEM before the end of the month.

I have ordered this version from zoverstocks. Is it a different version to yours?

Requiem was despatched to me yesterday from lovefilm so I should have watched it by no later than the weekend. I think I will try to write some fairly full notes this time so hopefully my contribution makes a bit more sense.

My Life as a Dog is on lovefilm, I have added it previously from BBB's recommendation. I will have to put up with whatever version they have!

Different packaging Mike, but I think it might be the same, both Arrow.

It's not a film that needs great PQ anyway, it's all about the story. I'm really happy it's been chosen.

There are a few candidates, but I wonder if you'll all work out which is the scene that I watched repeatedly, and laughed out loud each time I watched it. I'm laughing just thinking about it. *lol*

Did you have further thoughts on Bigger than Life, Ben? (I appreciate that I put you on the spot; and that you're busy; and that you may have forgotten the conversation completely!)
