what are you listening too on the new baby?
Damien Rice.......Jennifer Warnes........Shawn Colvin.......Rush...........and now have plugged in the laptop and am watching Heroes with the screen in between the speakers.

Next - the turntable..............

Oh, and if anybody has any doubt about the effect of mains on an audio signal - plug your laptop into the stereo on the battery, and then plug in the power supply...........

Hope you enjoy your new knobby amp :), but the mains quote is a little unfair. Im guessing you prefer it on battery...but then the laptop isnt a hifi component, with relevant transformer etc to obliterate any negative effects from the AC power supply, but then thats another (oft repeated, boring) thread.

Yeah, all true, but I was surprised at how bad it was - shame I couldn't try it with my merlin (different plug shape)

Was so much easier when I was into online gaming. I upgraded to SLI high performance graphics cards once, at silly money, in order to get another 30-40 FPS from Quake2. But then the computer looked pretty much identical to the lay(womans) eye :)
