The new Onkyo

I thought I'd get in before all the ballyhoo about the new £399 replacement for the 606. So, here's the deal. I have a BD player, and HD-DVD player, a V-box and an upscaling DVD-A/SACD player. That's 4 HDMIs and all output 1080i/1080p. I've held back on buying the earlier Onkyo (partly cynicism due to over-hype and mostly because of the paltry 2 HDMI inputs). So it now looks like I'll get what I need in terms of inputs but am I right in assuming that the amp's upscaling is somewhat redundant to me? The V-box outputs 1080i and I prefer its 720p. Would the amp do a better job? Everything else does 1080p.

I can say with some confidence that we'll be getting a review sample first - and of course when we do it's an obvious candidate for one of our online reviews...
