I was in a local boozer earlier today and noticed they had a Pioneer plasma on the wall. It was only playing a local radio station. Seemed a shame and I commented as such to the missus who was completely unbothered!

There were several generations of Kuros, and it's only the ninth and last generation models that are really worth being nostalgic about. I don't suppose you could find out about the one in your pub? I have eigth and ninth generation Kuros, and the ninth generation one is definitely better, for detail, for black level, and for being Full HD, as opposed to only HD Ready.

Two possibilities: 1) There may be a fault with the TV's display panel. 2) Someone sold the Pioneer to him to buy a Panasonic. :)

Or 3) It wasn't a Kuro, just an old generation one.

Maybe I should've had a question mark at the end of my title, as I have no idea which model it was. I'm no Pioneer spotter! It was in lovely condition, though and didn't have a single mark on the piano black frame. I'd say the frame was about 5cm wide, high gloss black and the screen was recessed maybe 8 or 10mm, if that helps the spotters...?

The display was working, as it had a moving banner on screen showing the station name.
