My gym plays awful music. Really awful.... and the earbuds on my iPhone don't keep it out. For serious listening whilst travelling, I have some rather wonderful Klipsch noise cancelling headphones. I don't use headphones at home, ever.

So, I'm looking for recommendations for a pair of wireless for in the gym. I will not consider BOSE, or Beats, as I like to hear bass, not be pounded to death by it. Any options please? Budget probably up to around £100-£120....

Philips headphones are good, I have a pair of noise cancelling headphones and wireless for the gym, that are slightly cheaper than the Philips headphones that got a 5 star review. Here is the 5 star pair:

They are good headphones indeed, just bought a pair for my daughter, it does beg to question though what the OP is actually doing in the gym as on ear headphones have their place but not, to my mind, in a gym.

Bear in mind most noise cancelling is there to try and alleviate a constant background, be it the drone in a train or the noise in an aircraft, on ear headphones are not going to be best suited to movement / sweaty head situations.

AKG Headphones are good for the gym too. Here’s a WHF 5 star review:

I haven’t found noise cancelling headphone are the main thing at the gym either. Just a good light pair, that don’t sweat to much, wireless or not, I use both. I don’t hear much noise outside of them either.

Thanks for the comments so far. I mainly cycle, row, and use weights on legs at the gym so not a massive amount of moving around.

i have heard some BOSE, but only two or three pairs. They seemed pretty bassy to me, but we are all different I guess....

The Bose QC25 and QC35, with noise canceling on (QC35 also Bluetooth on) are nearly "flat" in audiophile terms. The older noise cancelers like the QC2 did have excessive bass.

Bose earphones are not bassy. Have you listened to them?

It might be easier to use a different gym....  ;-)

No noise cancelling headphones are going to work sufficiently well in that environment.
I wasn't alluding to noise cancelling headphones. I meant NC earphones (QC 20). For gym use, as you say, on ear or over ear aren't ideal.

Exactly. Subsequent generations after QC2 are not bassy at all.
