We need volunteers once again, please.

We're seeking three hi-fi/home cinema enthusiasts to come and join us for the day for our regular Big Question feature.
It takes place on Wednesday 1st December.

If you're interested in taking a seat on the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision readers' sofa, please email me and I can provide further details. It's always proved a fun and interesting day, with lots of good kit issues to chew over.

You'll need to get yourself here for a prompt 11am start (our photographer starts getting twitchy at about 10.45...). We'll take you out for a pub lunch here in Teddington and then we'll all discuss some great kit in our state-of-the-art testing rooms. And, of course, you'll get your picture and words in the January 2011 (2011?? Where does it all go, eh?) issue of our mag!

Any questions, either post here or drop me an email.

The topic must, as ever, remain secret. It's not always the case that we do a 'blind' test, but more often than not the panel will not know precisely what it is they are reviewing.

The day normally finishes at about 4.00pm.

I'm afraid there's not much we can do about the distance (obviously), but what I can say is that we've had a number of people coming in from a long way away, (Barnsley, Bolton, Dublin among them) and they all seem to have thought it worthwhile.

all the best

bigboss:I travelled from Barnsley for the Big Question....was well worth it....also because I proposed my girlfriend that evening! We're getting married next Sunday.

any excuse to get out?

(joke)

All the best for Sunday. With a name like "bigboss" you probably don't need telling - but treat your best man and bridesmaids like employees - put them to work. I spent too much of the day discussing operational "issues" with caterers, bar managers, coach drivers etc!

Thanks nodnarb4444! It certainly was a day full of big questions!!

And a BIG THANKS to WHF, especially Jonathan, Simon & Ketan. It wasn't difficult to get my girlfriend agree to come to London on the pretext of the Big Question.

The plans did change a bit though. The ring I had specially ordered was not ready on the day, despite me ringing them thrice to confirm the date! So I had to make do with a cheap Swarowski ring. Also, my plan of proposing her in a Thames river cruise was ruined by the rain. Proposed in a busy restaurant in Covent Garden....

Not taking anything off from the Big Question feature.

Enjoyed the day a lot, comparing AV receivers with a stereo amplifier.
