I wonder about something. I have been into music and production of music, but hardly went into the background of 'post production treatments' of songs in clubs.
Now I remember from times that I visited clubs (before decibel regulations) that the kick drums seemed standarized, as in that they always seem to sound the same. There was the regular punchy 909 kickdrum among other signatures, but it also was like they added something sharper to it in the higher frequencies.
I wonder if it was the effect of overdub or simply the signature of the speakers.
