Damn, I thought I had set my decision on the TX32LXD700 and then I see that the new Plasma TH37PX80 is cheaper and more readily available from the store Im looking to purchase from.

So what is the difference between these 2 sets other than one being plasma and a 37" set?

Why is the smaller LCD screen more expensive? Does it equal the picture quality of the plasma?

Any help gratefully received.

100% plasma id say... better colours better motion handling... the LCD is expensive because its almost the best of its size

Both sets are excellent for their given sizes.

The 37PX70 has won several "Best Buy" recommendations and is now superceded by the better 37PX80.

It is probably better than the LXD700 is most respects, except perhaps in the sound system.

And it's CHEAPER!
where did the PX70 come up? :S
The PX80 has just been released. It is the replacement for the PX70. I quoted the best buys of the PX70 just to show that the PX80 would be as good, if not better.

I was nearing my decision towards the plasma set but have now found out it does not have picture-in-picture arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

I really wanted this feature and am so disappointed that a set, any set, of this quality in this day and age doesn`t have that.

Just wondering if the 800 series will have it and whether there is a 37" plasma in the 800 range.
