Technics SL1200 MK2 turntable hifi integration

I've just upgraded my amp and speakers (so now my setup is: Arcam CD73, Creek Evolution II Amp and B&W CM1 Speakers). I also have a Technics SL1200 MK2 turntable which I love and want to get the best sound from. What would you suggest to squeeze the best out of the turntable with this setup?

As with any deck a good cartridge and phono preamp and careful cartridge alignment.

A rigid and perfectly level platform sited away from speakers.

Phono stage is easy - get the Creek plugin board for the Evo (which is 50 or 60 quid I think, depending on whether you get moving magnet or moving coil).

Cartridge is harder, and depends on budget.
