Tannoy Mercury M2 and amp?

I am having a chance to acquire a pair of Tannoy Mercury M2 for 40 quid, I know they are quite old speakers, are they any good? Which budget amp (second-hand, around 100 quid) would go well with it?

Simply googling for reviews might be quicker than getting a response on here. As you will see the 2.5's where a much improved item. However if you can actually physically view the M2's then they become a better option than the likes of eBay.

Before I mention an amp these speakers need to suit your room and need to go on decent stands to get the best out of them, or any others come to that.
