I'm no electrician or electronic engineer, but since we all live in different areas getting different supplies of electricity would it not be feasible that mains cleaning products will work better for some than others?so who are we to say who is benefiting from filters etc and who's just getting a placebo effect.

The fact you plugged it in means you imagined it.
But as long as you imagine it every time you listen means it doesn't matter

did shallow Hal say this? That's deep bro... Almost Zen! My expensive interconnect must sound good coz its expensive therefore my expectation raises to the level of cost? Which means that I'm happy..I'm going to celebrate with tinned cheese and biscuits!

I also have a Maintrab transient supression and RFI filter that plugs into the wall socket which the CS929 plugs into. It uses varistors, gas discharge surge arrestors and voltage dependent resistors. It has a series of inductors and shunt capacitors that forms a low pass filter which attenuates RFI.

Its British made BTW.

For optimum performance only use 1 surge/spike suppressor per unit. I.E. if the mains strip has surge/spike suppression built in, connect the equipment directly into it, however if you wish to have individual surge/spike suppressors per unit, then plug them into a standard (Without surge/spike suppression) mains strip.

If you’re really worried about interference, then get a mains regenerator (This isolates the input from the output) and just use a standard mains strip from the on-board outlet.

NOTE: Only 1 mains strip/regenerator per wall mains socket, unless it is a twin wall socket when 2 are allowed. (1 per socket)

Hope this helps

If you are talking about performance it's a placebo effect, although some mains borne interference may be reduced. Pops and clicks from a fridge, that type of thing.

So all those people reporting a degrading of their hifi or tv thats a placebo effect as well?

Exactly.
