I'd be most grateful if somebody could give me the dimensions of a Tacima 929 block, and length when the mains cable is folded back on itself. I'm wondering whether I could fit one inside a new rack I've built.
Does anybody use a Hydra type plug on a Tacima 929? If so, does it obstruct access to adjacant Tacima sockets?
Would I still benefit from the star earthing using a Hydra in a Tacima?
Basically it looks like it might be a tidy way to get 9 power connectors into my rack.

Not sure I understand the folded back bit.

Thanks for getting your tape measure out.

Im trying to get the block inside the width of my cabinet. The mains cable protrudes from the end of the block, so I will need to fold it out of the way (back on itself) to fit my available width. I was wondering how flexible the cable is and how many cm that would add to the minimum width it can be housed in.

Thanks again for the info.

Well, I've 452mm to play with if I want it inside the rack. I think I'm limiting my options too much for the sake of an elegant solution there. I think I'll hang the block vetically outside the rack. That should give me more space/options.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the Brennenstuh 6 way blocks from Brennenstuhi (£12.59 inc VAT with 3m cheap cable) as used in the Merlin Tarrantula (£150 with 1m expensive cable). To me it's either a bargain or Merlin buyers are being royally done over.

Also any thoughts on the Tacima Combined Mains Interference Conditioner & Surge Protector. These plug into a socket and clean the mains 'off line'. Will that be better than a Tacima 929 in that it does the same job but without any line resistance..

I'm sort of hoping Trevor 79 will be all over this with useful advice when he sees the thread title.
