System Upgrade - Will Old Amp still work ??

Hi,

I am thinking of purchasing the following:

Sony KDL-32W4000

I have KEF KHT 5.1 2001 speakers which are still working GREAT with my current set up but would like to know with the two changes to my system and connected using HDMI, can and how do I connect my current amp:

Yamaha A5 DSP

would the optical connection, which the amp has, do a blue ray player justice ???

Does this amp have Multi-Channel inputs. If memory serves me right I think it has?..................
