Hi all,
I am nearly ready to upgrade my current cinema system (just waiting for the thumbs up from the other half). Options I am looking at are:
[*]Projector: Panasonic PT-AE2000 (Seen this online for £1750 with free Panasonic DMP-BD30), Optima Themescene HD80 (also seen for £1750 with loads of useful freebies (spare bulb, screen, HDMI Cable etc)), or push the boat out for the Infocus IN82 (£2999), or even the new SIM2 D60 (£2990).
[*]Blu Ray Disc Player: Depending on the cost of the projector, I was looking at the Panasonic BDMPD50EGK (which is advertised for £359.99 or the new Denon DVD-2500BT (£900).
[*]HDMI cable: I will need a 10 metre lay from the projector to my AV equipment. The 3 options I am looking at are the Chord 1.3a Silver Plus (£190), IXOS XHT658 (£240 for the 11metre length) or the QED Qunex HDMI-SR (£171).
Questions I have are:
[*] Does the diffence in performance of the upper priced projectors justify the price difference?
[*]Which cable will give the best value for money over the 10 meter lay?
My current system is: Denon DVD A1, Infocus 405 Projector, Monitor Audio RS12 Speaker package, Onkyo TX-SR 875 (last two upgraded xmas last year), Cinema room 12' x 8'.
P.S. I will be booking a demo of the projectors prior to buying and will try to test the cables as well - glad of any advice
